Shadow Morton es una legendaria figura de culto, un genio loco. Fue uno de los grandes productores de grupos femeninos, mejor conocido por su trabajo para Shangri-Las, y fue uno de los únicos músicos relacionados con Brill Building en pasar con éxito del pop a la psicodelia y el acid rock. 'The Shadow Morton Story' es una compilación que llega lamentablemente solo unos pocos meses después de la muerte de Morton. Las excelentes notas de Mick Patrick revelan hasta qué punto el alcohol fue el responsable de los largos intervalos de silencio y su retiro.
