'The Purple Tour', álbum en vivo de Whitesnake, es un buen testimonio de cómo la banda manejo mejor los temas de Deep Purple en vivo que en estudio. David Coverdale se dio cuenta que ya no llega a algunas notas tan altas como antes, asi que o bien hace cantar al publico en las partes mas álgidas o bien es apoyado en los coros de manera correcta. Con muy buen sonido lleva adelante clásicos de Deep Purple como 'Burn', una demoledora 'The Gypsy', o la genial 'Mistreated'.
